Gaastra was established in 1897, by the 22 year old Douwe Gaastra, as a sail making company in the Dutch town Sneek. He set out on a mission to make sailing gear better, faster and more efficient. To withstand the most extreme conditions during Ocean / Offshore sailing GX-01 guarantees maximum comfort and protection. High endurance 3-layer Toray fabric is used which
incorporates a breathable and waterproof membrane. All seams are taped with waterproof BEMIS tape to prevent leaking. The crucial areas are reinforced with IBQ Kevlar® and finished with RIRI waterproof Storm® zippers or water-repellent Aqua® zippers to ensure maximum protection against wind and water. Reflective
badges and branding in the right positions provide extra safety.

GX-01
OCEAN/OFFSHORE SAILING

GX-02
COASTAL SAILING
Sailing along with land in sight or from land to nearby islands. You will be on the water for some hours up to a few days. GX-02 is designed for perfect functionality, comfort and protection for Coastal Sailing. High endurance 2-layer Toray fabric or soft-shell fabric guarantees that jackets are always waterproof and breathable. All Toray jackets have RIRI water-repellent Aqua® zippers and the seams are taped with waterproof BEMIS tape to prevent leaking. The jackets have a concealed chest pocket and reflective badges and branding in the right positions for extra safety. To accompany this range there are shorts and pants in a 2-way stretch fabric with IBQ Kevlar® reinforcement for strength and ease of movement.

GX-03
INSHORE SAILING
Sailing in protected and inland waters. Inshore sailing trips usually last only a couple of hours and take place in daylight. GX-03 offers you optimum comfort and all the protection you need against the circumstances you might come across. The use of strong, high endurance 2-layer Toray fabric with reinforced panels guarantees that garments are waterproof and breathable. RIRI water-repellent Aqua® zippers are used and the seams taped with waterproof BEMIS tape to prevent leaking. Refl ective badges and branding in the right positions provide extra safety. The jackets have a double cover-up outer storm catcher for maximum protection in all
weather conditions.
