Gaastra and Sneek Week; two Friesian sailing traditions united

Sneek Week ('Sneekweek') is the biggest sailing event held in European inland waters. The focus of the event is on sailing and its passionate participants, right from its spectacular start - the traditional naval pageant with hundreds of boats and a brilliant display of fireworks - up to the very last day of the competition. Sneek Week is organized by KWS, the Royal Water Sports Association of Sneek ('Koninklijke Watersportvereniging Sneek') and draws thousands of visitors and participants each year. For years, Gaastra has sponsored the KWS as well as Sneek Week. This is only logical, as Gaastra and Sneek Week are both well-established names with a strong nautical history originating in Sneek.
