Today we sailed the medal race, a short race with the best 10 boats of the fleet. The point count double, so number 1 gets 2 points and number 10 gets 20 points. It\\\'s not possible to discard this race and when you end up on the same points in the overall ranking, the boat which finishes in front of the other in de medal race will be in front in the overall ranking. 

The race is much shorter than a normal race, this makes it very intense, with the boats really close together. Because you\\\'re only racing with the best 10 boats, you cannot make any mistakes. From start to finish it feels like a sprint, physically and mentally. We both crossed the finish with sweat dripping of our faces, yeah cool! 

We did sweat a lot, but it was worth it, we finished 2nd in this race and moved up to 8th overall. This was more or less the biggest gain we could make in the overall ranking, so we were really pleased with this result!! For now we packed the boat to go to France tomorrow for the next regatta. I will be on the ferry tomorrow and next thursday we will race the Spring Cup. 

Off to a very nice dinner now, celebrating our coach his birthday!
